Samsung held a humongous launch event for its much-talked-about Samsung Galaxy Note 9 on Thursday, August 9, where it unraveled Samsung Galaxy Note 9 along with Samsung Galaxy Watch and 360-degrees surround sound Galaxy Home (speakers) with Bixby. At the event, Epic Games’ CEO Twin Sweeney came forward to congratulate Samsung for its new releases while excitingly presenting Fortnite exclusively for Galaxy devices where other Android users will get Fortnite on their devices only after a month. But that’s not all. Samsung has also partnered with uber-popular music service Spotify as its go-to music service.

According to Daniel Ek, CEO of Spotify, the music service giant has partnered with Samsung to provide music on the go not just for Note 9 users but for all Samsung smartphone users but that’s not all. Spotify will soon extend its integration with other Samsung products like tablets, Smart TVs, and Watches, Google Home speakers and more.

Spotify is one of the largest music provider in the world with a presence in 65 countries with more than 35 million songs to choose from. It has more than 80 million paying subscribers with a monthly active user base of 180 million and has more than 2 billion playlists ready for all its subscribers. Further, Spotify will be available on all Samsung smartphones in Smart Switch so that they can launch the app and listen to millions of songs. Furthermore, Samsung will integrate Spotify in Samsung Smart TVs’ SmartThings app from where users could listen to the breakless music right from their Smart TVs.

What’s more exciting is how Google Home that comes with Bixby, Samsung’s in-house voice assistant, will search and play music. Google Home originally pairs with Samsung Music to search for songs and play it, however, with Spotify, Bixby will automatically search for requested music on Spotify first and then, on Samsung Music.

Samsung will introduce easy to pair feature where the user can sign up on Spotify and use the same credentials to log in from different Samsung devices. Once all the Samsung products pair together, Spotify will detect if two or more Samsung devices are connected to the same WiFi, thus, allowing the user to switch between devices seamless and without any hassle. Spotify will be extremely easy to use on Samsung smartphones as the user can change or undo songs right with a locked up screen.

Spotify has a Discovery feature that works by detecting and analyzing what and when the user listens to the song because humans have a tendency to change the niche of the songs based on time, mood, activity, etc. The feature gives access to a cache of music related to your taste which allows users to listen to thousands of other great songs sung by other artists thereby facilitating both the user and the artists.

When asked if what else a user could do with Spotify on Samsung, Daniel added a quote from Samsung’ President and CEO – DJ Koh, that it’s just the start of things to come.
