Samsung showcased the first-ever foldable phone back in November last year at the SDC 2018. The phone summoned as Samsung Galaxy Fold was finally launched during the Unpacked event on February 20 with a price tag of an outstanding $1,980. Moving further, Samsung is working on not one but two new upcoming foldable devices for this year and the next after studying the factors related to the foldable phones that will allow the South Korean company to launch these foldable devices in a way that masses could appreciate it.

Samsung Galaxy Fold is an outward folding phone with a smaller screen outside and a larger notebook-like colossal 7.30-inch foldable display inside. According to the latest update that ricochets on GSMArena, Samsung is working on an inward folding device resembling Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X followed by another Motorola RAZR-like clamshell designed vertically folding display.

According to what we know so far, the RAZR-like vertically folding flip phone could be launched as early as by the end of this year or by the beginning of next year. The inward folding notebook phone is towed for release sometime next year, however, there are no specifics available about the specs, price, etc.

Samsung Galaxy Fold is a revolutionary device for sure, however, it does have its own challenges such as the display imperfection that are visible once the device hits 10,000 folds resulting increases folding on the protective film above the touch screen. This is where Samsung could offer free replacement once it actually releases the phone while it continually works on how to rectify the issue. The issue is plausible since this is the first generation of foldable devices and there’s a lot to innovate and fix in the coming generation.

Samsung is also reported to include an in-display fingerprint sensor probably backed by its proprietary ultrasonic technology on the upcoming foldable devices which recently made its way to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ from the trio S10 released at the same Unpacked event that we discussed above.
