Honor Magic V Flip2 is on its way for a speculated launch sometime next month. Well, this comes from a very reputed Chinese leaker that puts gravitas to its launch timeframe, given the fact that the predecessor was launched in June 2024. Find out more on the upcoming Flip 2 here.
Honor Magic V Flip2 is Launching Next Month With a Snapdragon 8 ‘Sub-Flagship’ SoC
According to Digital Chat Station, Honor Magic V Flip2 is launching in August 2025. The phone is a clamshell-designed device, succeeding last year’s debutant V Magic Flip. Perhaps, what we know so far is that the design between the two will largely remain unchanged. It would have been better to see at least some changes in design, although it is what we know so far.
Moving on, Honor Magic V Flip2 is speculated to bump up its battery pack from last year’s 4,800mAh to 5,500mAh. Now that will surely eclipse major competitors such as Motorola Razr 60 Ultra and Xiaomi Mix Flip 2. Moving on, we see a bump in the charging capability from 66W or 80W, although we will have to wait some more time to get a clear picture.
The last-gen Magic V Flip had a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC under the hood. Cut to now, DCS confirms Honor will opt for a ‘sub-flagship’ chipset on the Magic V Flip2 and there’s a strong inclination towards Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC. We have seen the chipset in the recently launched Nothing Phone (3) and Poco F7, to name a few.
DCS further adds Magic V Flip2 is likely to host a 6.8” LTPO AMOLED foldable panel plus a 4-inch cover display using the same display tech. On the optics front, we could see a 50MP primary 1/1.5” sensor in a dual rear camera setup.
Reports suggest Magic V Flip2 will carry the largest folding battery this year using dual-cell tech. Honor along with Xiaomi and Huawei are likely to only be smartphone makers launching next-gen devices. We see Samsung working its way for Galaxy Z Flip7 and Flip7 FE launch on July 9 as well.
