Since a past few weeks, we’ve been seeing a lot of leaks and rumors around the upcoming HTC device. The device is dubbed as HTC Desire 20 Pro. Although HTC was not active in recent times, back in February they have listed their Wildfire R70 on the company’s website but the device has remained unreleased. Now, the Taiwanese giant has sent out media invites for a launch event that will be held on June 16 in Taiwan itself. The launch poster shows off a device that resembles the upcoming HTC Desire 20 Pro.

HTC Launch Poster from HTC Community

The launch teaser only reveals an outline of the device, it is much of silhouette. But the image still reveals a single camera embedded in the punch-hole display notch on the top left corner. Also, there is an elongated camera module on its back. The device seems to match with the schematics of HTC Desire Pro which was leaked by Evan Blass back in April. Going by the leaks, the sketch from Evan Blass also said to feature zero-bezels design.

From the previous leaks we’ve got to know that the device comes with the HTC 2Q9J100 model number and it also has received certification from Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC). By this time, we already know the key specifications of the device as Desire 20 Pro has appeared in the Google Play Console. Also, the device recently has received certifications from the Bluetooth SIG and the WiFi Alliance too. Talking about the Bluetooth SIG listing, it is mentioned that the HTC device with a model number of HTC 2Q9J100 has Bluetooth 5.0 support and the device is likely to with support for WiFi dual-band and comes with Android 10, according to the WiFi Alliance. As a matter of fact, this has to be the first HTC device to launch with Android 10 out of the box.

According to the Google Play Console listing, the device comes packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC coupled with 6 GB of RAM. Although Snapdragon 665 is a chipset from 2018, it has been such a relief to a lot of smartphone enthusiasts as HTC has finally moved to Snapdragon SoCs from MediaTek for its mid-range devices. According to the previous reports, this could be a lower mid-range device and there are very fewer chances for AMOLED display here. So we can expect an IPS LCD display with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
