While a lot of talks have been dedicated towards companies such as OnePlus, Apple, Samsung and even Google for their recently-launched or their upcoming smartphones, there is one company that was under the radar from quite some time. We are talking about Huawei and the company has been struggling to stay relevant because of their battle with the US. Having said that, Huawei is still the number 1 company in the European markets despite the fact that no Google services are available on their devices.
Now, a new leak has appeared regarding Huawei which is related to their upcoming flagship smartphone in the market. Similar to Samsung, Huawei also launched two smartphones in the market every year. The first one is Huawei P series which has already been launched and we now wait for the Huawei Mate series. So our first look at the Huawei Mate 40 series is here thanks to the ever-reliable OnLeaks. He has shared the first look of what he believes will be the Huawei Mate 40.
Taking a first look at the Huawei Mate 40, anyone who has seen the Nokia of old times will feel that there is a very striking similarity between the two. It honestly feels like Huawei has revived the Nokia Lumia days of the past. As for the actual device, there is a huge camera module at the back in a circular design which is much bigger than what we have seen so far.
This module is seen to have three cameras inside it and there will be a dual punch-hole camera setup on the front too. At the moment, we do not know anything about the device’s camera setup or what features it will have. But we do have one particular problem with the device that was there on the Huawei P40’s design as well.
It is regarding the huge pill-shaped camera on the front that both the Huawei devices of this year are going to come with. We know that punch-hole display is the norm but this huge a pill should be a concern for the viewing angles and it feels right in the face for a user. While we don’t know how big the sensors are inside this punch-hole, we believe that the holes could have been shrunk down and the gap could have been reduced. But it does look like Huawei will have some sort of face recognition technology this time around which is great.
