Just a day after Honor launched Honor 30S, a lite smartphone featuring Huawei’s Kirin 820 5G for the first time on a smartphone, there’s a new update. The company has reserved April 15 to mark the official launch of its Honor 30 series that will include both Honor 30 and Honor the 30S.

Talking about the launch date, this was confirmed by Honor officially as images of Honor 30 series with the launch data 04.15 appeared on Weibo where Chinese actor Li Xian can be seen holding the phone. Although the phone is pretty much in the sight, Xian is actually holding it in such a way that nothing apart from its half back panel is visible so there’s no camera bump or other sensors on the left side of the back panel.

Call it coincidence or something but it was just yesterday that OnePlus confirmed its launch data on April 14 where it will launch the OnePlus 8 series. This is being taken as a rivalry between Honor & OnePlus where Honor 30 and 30 Pro will be pit against OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro respectively.

Apparently, we don’t know much about the Honor 30 series yet except a few camera specs on the non-Pro variant (or it could be the same for both). The leak suggests that Honor 30 will sport a triple camera setup with 50MP Sony IMX 7XX lens marching as the primary sensor. It will have a sensor size of 1/1.3” while the secondary cam is a 12MP ultrawide sensor and finally, an 8MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.

According to a report by GSMArena, the device is likely to arrive with 40W fast charging support and Kirin 990 5G SOC under the hood. There’s nothing more about it as of now but you can still watch out for more here on TrueTech.
