Huawei MateBook 14S Specifications
MateBook 14S sports a 90Hz 14.2” IPS LCD with a 2,520 x 1,680 pixels resolution. You get a 213 PPI with the display along with a 3:2 aspect ratio and offers 400 nits of brightness which is certainly higher than most of the laptops out there. The notebook uses a 10-bit display producing 1.07 billion colors and has a multi-touch screen with up to 10 touches simultaneously.
Thanks to the 90Hz display, MateBook 14S can show animations and transitions smoother than ever. In fact, it is among the first laptops from Huawei to offer a higher refresh rate.
Although the Huawei MateBook 14S runs on Windows 10 and is upgradable to Windows 10 once it is available, it is still strapped with HMS Core allowing you to run smartphone apps on the laptop. Windows 11 will also get Android app support once it arrives on the laptop.
Port selection on the MateBook 14S is way better than one you would find on a MacBook. This includes a full-sized HMDI, a combo 3.5mm jack, two USB-C ports, and a USB-A 3.2 Gen1 port. The notebook supports Bluetooth v5.1 and Wi-Fi 6 ax along with 2×2 MIMO among others.
When it comes to the powerhouse, you have two options here. The base is an Intel Core i5-11300H Tiger Lake with 54W TDP and the top variant is an i7-11370H where both the processors are paired with 4-cores and 8-threads. There’s an L3 cache of 8MB and 12MB respectively. Both configurations arrive with Intel Iris Xe graphics. MateBook 14S uses 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM with dual-channel that you can use to extend it to 16G while the storage is 512GB of NVMe expandable to 1TB.
The notebook arrives with a larger 60Wh battery with a 90W USB-C charger which outshines the MateBook 16 launched just a few days ago. You also get a 4 speaker set with the MateBook 14S along with four microphones capable of picking up sound over 5 meters of distance while diminishing any ambient noise.
