Huawei has been teasing the P20 and P20 Pro for quite a while now and on 28th March they finally unveiled the devices to the public. The launch event was held in Paris where they revealed the P20 Pro, P20 and the P20 Lite. After weeks of leaks and rumours, the devices made an appearance and it doesn’t come as a shock to many since the leaks were legit and the devices matched their structure. Huawei was more than happy to let the people know about its usage of Leica lens and it also explained how the notch on their devices is much smaller than that on the iPhone X.
The P20 Pro sports a triple-rear camera setup which includes an enormous 40-megapixel sensor. Huawei has focused on the camera department this time which eventually got the P20 Pro the first place in the DxOMark ranking with a rating of 109, whereas, the P20 scored 102, which isn’t less either. The showstopper of yesterday’s event was the P20 Pro with its 40-megapixel camera setup and all the other features it carries. The system uses LightFusion which combines the data from four adjacent same colour edge pixels to produce one single 10MP photo with better and richer colours. The 40MP rear camera has an f/1.8 aperture, dual-LED flash, and 4-way autofocus with 3x optical zoom, and 5x hybrid zoom. The P20 Pro also does exceptionally well in low-light conditions, although the cameras do not have OIS, but they do come with artificial intelligence stabilisation or AIS which seems to be a new feature. Huawei stated that you can capture exposures which will last up to six seconds.
Just like other Android smartphone makers in the market, Huawei has also planned on going with the notch trend for all the three devices which in turn gives them a better body-to-screen ratio at or more than 90 percent. One of the features which the people have been asking for is a way to hide the notch and Huawei has implemented a software solution to achieve that where you can enable or disable the notch from the settings itself. The P20 Pro is the largest and probably the best among the three phones with its 6.1 inch Full HD AMOLED display, while the P20 Lite sports a 5.84-inch display and the P20 sports a 5.8-inch display with Full HD+ resolution. Both the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro are powered by an octa-core Kirin 970 SoC and the P20 Lite is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 chipset. These are coupled along with 6GB of RAM for the P20 Pro and 4GB RAM for the latter.

The P20 Lite is already on sale in select countries and is available for £369 (Rs. 29,700). Whereas, the P20 goes on sale today for £649 (Rs.52,300) for the 4GB RAM variant and the P20 Pro will be available on 6th April for £899 (Rs. 72,300). Huawei is also launching a Porsche Design Mate RS device which costs £2,095 (Rs. 1,69,000) and will go on sale from April 12.
