A well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from TF International has some predictions on the iPhone 16 series’ colorways. Kuo has recently expressed his thoughts on X (formerly known as Twitter) and predicted new color options for Apple’s new iPhones.

Apple Analyst Predicts New Colors for iPhone 16 Series

According to Kuo, there will be a major change for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models. These flagship models will likely have black, white (or silver), gray (or natural titanium), and brand-new “Rose” color options. This rosy hue will sub in the current “Blue Titanium” and may bring back the passion for pink iPhones we felt for the Rose Gold iPhone 6s in 2015.

Kuo writes that the regular iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus will also experience a color shift. He predicts the change from the currently available yellow option to classic white which will also be added to the lower price variants for an extra bit of elegance. Look out for black, green, pink, blue, and white phones.

Kuo also notes that although Apple may continue to use the same color names for the iPhone 16 lineup the colors may vary slightly from past models. He cites the iPhone 13’s “Starlight” color as a case in point – it was essentially a white color that Apple had repackaged from earlier phone models. Well, it might be the same names as before, but the colors might differ.

To make Kuo’s prediction come true, independent designer Arnaud Ducouret (@ArnaudDucouret) used his imagination and talent and presented us with a beautiful render of the iPhone 16 Pro in the new “Rose” color.

This design brings back memories of when the Rose Gold iPhone 6s was launched and viewed as an epitome of class and beauty by many. At first, Rose Gold was considered a color aimed at women, but Apple managed to promote it as a material symbolizing exclusivity and luxury.

Assuming Apple follows its standard launch cadence, the formal announcement of the iPhone 16 lineup will take place in September 2024. We can only get excited about the possible color combinations for the new iPhones suggested by Kuo. Can “Rose” Really Be the New “Rose Gold”? We will only know for sure with time or Apple’s official statement.
