Apple iPhone 14 Pro models could have punch-hole selfie cameras & 48MP rear camera, says Ming-Chi Kuo

The Apple iPhone 13 is still a few days away from shipping in most parts of the world after its launch last week. Cut to now, we have some freshly brewed reports on the upcoming iPhone 14 series slated to arrive in the fall of 2022. Turns out Apple could be ditching the notch on iPhone 14 Pro models for a punch-hole cut-out.

This information comes from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who has a stellar reputation in terms of leaks over the years. Ming predicted that the iPhone 13 series will have a smaller notch and high refresh rates whereas some other leaks didn’t unfold.

Circling to the recent leak, Kuo reported that both Pro models i.e. iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will sport a punch-hole cut-out instead of a small notch that the iPhone 13 series brought on-board. Both the devices will have 48MP wide cameras at the rear. Kuo also pointed out that the in-display fingerprint scanner for iPhones dubbed as Touch ID is far off and it is expected to arrive in 2023 only which is when Apple will launch iPhone 15 series.

The timeline for foldable iPhones has been delayed as well and it is expected to arrive sometime in 2023 to 2024 although take it with a pinch of salt.

The iPhone 14 series comprising of at least three models and there’s no Mini variant for the upcoming series as per the reports. Apple will likely ditch the mini variant.

Apple is likely to roll out iPhone SE with 5G connectivity sometime in the first half of 2022.
