Ever since Google has unveiled its Pixel 4 series of smartphones, we have been seeing quite a lot of leaks and speculations around the mid-range Pixel 4a. Both Pixel 5 series of devices have remained under the rocks. But not anymore! With the launch date nearing, we have already witnessed the renders of Pixel 5, a few weeks ago, now seems like its the turn of the larger Pixel 5 XL.

The renders of the Pixel 5 XL come to us from David Kowalski aka xleaks7 in collaboration with Pigtou. If you are not aware, Pigtou also brought us the renders of Pixel 5 and Galaxy Note 20 series of smartphones. As you can see both the devices look quite similar. The device towards the left is the smaller Pixel 5 and the device to the right is the Pixel 5 XL. Both the devices have a punch-hole display notch to the top left corner. Seems like Google is going full screen this time on both the devices. Just like every year, Google did not concentrate a lot on the looks of the devices. The design of these flagship devices does share a quite of lot resemblance with the mid-range Pixel 4a.

If you take a look at the back of the device, the first thing you notice is the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is very confusing to see a fingerprint sensor on the 2020 flagship device. I mean, I could not even recall what was the last flagship that came out with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. To recall, with last year’s Pixel, Google ditched the fingerprint sensor and included the soli radar technology to offer complete face unlock mechanism, just like the iPhones. Now, going taking the story back to the rear-mounted scanner does not seem like a good idea. Regardless of that, we still get to see the dual rear camera setup. The source did not reveal anything around the camera and its specifications, but hopefully we the ultrawide sensor this time.

On the bottom, we get to see the dual downward-firing speakers and USB Type C for charging purposes. On the top is where the headphone jack is found. The volume keys and power button are found to the right of the device, and just like the previous Pixels, the colored power key takes a return.

The source revealed a few details around the device and its dimensions. Pixel  5 XL is a little bit wider than the smaller Pixel 5. The length of the device is 153.8 mm and the width is 74 mm. The device measures 8.5 mm as far as the thickness is concerned. Pigtou also added that the overall thickness might reach up to 9.5 mm if the rear camera bump is included. Talking about the rear camera, it measures 24.9 mm by 24.9 mm, making it the square camera block. As far as other specifications are concerned, we expect the Pixel 5 XL to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with 6 or 8 GB of RAM. According to Pigtou’s calculations, the display size of the device is 6.12-inches and is expected to come with 4000 mAh battery.
