One of the largest chipset manufacturers MediaTek has just released yet another chipset targeting tablets. Dubbed as Kompanio 1300T, the chipset comes as a successor to Kompanio 1200 released later last year and it is a Dimensity 1200 equivalent which is now powering flagship devices.

The new chipset comes with a considerable amount of upgrades over the last-gen chipset that will be used across ARM-powered laptops and tablets (of course). The new chipset is fabricated on a 6nm node by China’s TSMC and has an octa-core arrangement. This includes Cortex-A78 and A55 cores in a dual-cluster arrangement. The chipset comes with an improved nine-core Mali-G77 MC9 GPU from the Mali-G57 MC5 used in 1200.

Further, the chipset supports up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM at 2,133 MHz. There’s UFS 3.1 storage, sub-6 GHz 5G coverage including dual-SIM support, and two-channel carrier aggregation. This should help the Kompanio 1300T to have high-speed connectivity.

Next up, the chipset supports 120Hz at 1440p on a single screen setup. On the other hand, it supports two 1080p displays since it is meant for laptops and tablets. The display has HDR10+ video playback capability.

The MediaTek Kompanio 1300T supports AI-PQ and voice commands. There’s up to 108MP camera support and enables recording video at up to 4K at up to 60fps. The chipset is equipped with the latest Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.2 support along with 5G for high-speed connectivity.

Apparently, Kompanio 1300T is expected to arrive on Honor V7 Pro by mid-August as per the reports. If that turns out to be true, we are almost there and we will get to see the Kompanio 1300T in action soon.
