After much teasing and whatnot, Motorola Edge 40 Pro is finally here. Paired with a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a large 50MP sensor, and 125W fast charging tech, this is a 2023 flagship that we are talking about. Let’s take a deep dive into what the flagship smartphone brings onboard.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro Pricing and Availability

Talking about the pricing, the Blue and Black colored variants for Moto Edge 40 Pro stand at EUR 899.99 across Europe and will be available in a few days. The pricing and availability vary from country to country so you need to wait for some time to get a clear picture of the same.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro Specifications & More

Apparently, Moto Edge 40 Pro released in Europe borrows the same specifications as that of the Moto X40 that made its debut in China. Of course, the Chinese had heavy customizations which the European version doesn’t plus, it is much closer to the Android 13 stock experience.

The Moto Edge 40 Pro packs in a giant 6.67” AMOLED panel with a mind-boggling 165Hz refresh rate. The display is limited to 1080p resolution and comes with a Gorilla Glass Victus on top for protection against falls and scratches. Its back panel too has a GG Victus for back protection.

There’s a subtle rectangular-shaped camera island at the back housing a triple camera snapper. It uses a large 50MP primary unit with OIS and a 50MP ultrawide 117° unit with AF and f/2.2 lens. Its third counterpart is a 12MP telephoto snapper with 2x optical zoom capabilities. Right on the front housed in a punch-hole notch lies a 60MP camera for excellent selfies and much more.

Moving on, the phone’s powertrain comprises a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with 256GB UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X 12GB RAM. Of course, there’s no microSD card slot given the flagship status of the phone and how OEMs have been getting rid of the slot altogether.

On the battery front, we get a 4,600mAh battery that should last a day. Luckily, there’s a power adapter or brick in the box so you don’t have to buy it individually. We have a 125W fast charging tech on top that shouldn’t take more than a 10-minute song to charge from 0 to 100%. Of course, fast charging comes with its pros and cons but hey, that’s something we’ll leave up for further discussion.

Tapping on the last bit of specs, there’s an IP68 rating on the device. It means the phone can survive being submerged in water for 30 minutes up to 1.5m depth while protecting it from dust as well. Its GG Victus back and front glass gives extra protection in case you dropped your phone or the phone is subjected to many scratches.
