Motorola Edge Plus to Launch April 22: Specifications, Features, and Everything we know so far

The Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Plus did gain a lot of attention in recent times and have been the brand’s most awaited devices for quite a while now! The very first leak, the images of a device with a “waterfall display” went online back in the month of February. Recently, the CAD-based renders of this smartphone surfaced showing the device from all the possible angles. Now, Motorola’s new teaser tweet showcases a new device with the same waterfall display with 90 degrees curve, which is set to launch on April 22.

Motorola started this year with the launch of much-awaited Motorola RAZR, which is a compelling device with a  futuristic design. But, might not work much for the company because of its asking price of $1620. So, the Motorola Edge Plus is a second attempt by the company to hit back the market. By this time, we already know that company is planning to launch two variants — Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Plus. Motorola Edge is the lower variant in the series which might feature a similar design with the same waterfall display found on Motorola Edge Plus. But the lower Motorola Edge will miss out on a flagship chipset. According to the previous reports, the Motorola Edge will be powered by Snapdragon 765G instead of Snapdragon 865 of the Plus variant.

Motorola Edge Plus Specifications

The Motorola Edge Plus features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The display refresh rate here is 90 Hz and the pixel density is 386 PPI. The Elephant of the show here is the waterfall display. The display here is curved towards the sides and thereby lending the Edge branding to this product. The display will have a small punch-hole notch to house the front-facing camera.

Underneath the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset coupled with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of onboard storage. Adreno 650 handles the graphic duties here. As for the cameras, there is a triple rear camera setup on the back with 108 MP Primary Camera with f/1.7 aperture. The secondary sensor is a 16 MP Ultra-Wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 13MM field of view. The third sensor, as one would expect is an 8 MP telephoto unit with f/2.4 aperture. and 3X optical zoom. The front-facing camera is a 20 MP unit.

The Moto Edge Plus runs Android 10 out of the box with Android One on top. Android One is a vanilla Android with a few Moto Features built-in. The in-display fingerprint sensor, Type-C Port, and 3.5mm headphone jack take an account here. All this is backed by a 5170 mAh battery with support for Quick Charging.

The aspect ratio of this display is 19.5:9 and features the same waterfall display with curved edge screen found on the Motorola Edge Plus.

As for the performance, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Adreno 620 handles the graphic duties here. According to a report by XDA, the Motorola Edge also features a triple rear camera setup with 64 MP primary sensor instead of 108 MP sensor found on the Edge Plus. The 16 MP Ultra-Wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 13mm field of view and 8 MP telephoto lens with 3X optical Zoom and f/2.4 aperture takes a return here. The selfie shooter here is a 25 MP sensor.
