Nokia 5.1 Plus has already been making round in various leaks for a long time now. It seems like the smartphone is finally going to make its way to the market soon but with the name Nokia X5. As the name suggests, Nokia 5.1 Plus is a higher variant of previously launched Nokia 5.1.
As per earlier reports, Nokia was planning to host a press event in China on July 11. The same has been confirmed by the brand itself on its official Weibo account. The Finnish-based company has posted a launch invite on their account which suggests a new smartphone launch under the X lineup. There is a high chance that the brand might announce Nokia 5.1 Plus but with the name Nokia X5.
Nokia X5 (aka Nokia 5.1 Plus) expected specs and pricing
Nokia 5.1 Plus has appeared in numerous leaks already which leaves nothing to our imagination. The smartphone will follow the recent trends on notch display and dual camera setup at the back. The same was confirmed by the leaked render images previously. Apart from that, we also know the device would come with a MediaTek processor thanks to the Bluetooth certification which it got earlier.
The same device was also leaked earlier in a promo poster confirming various aspects of design as well as revealed some specifications. To recall, Nokia 5.1 Plus or Nokia X5 will come with 5.86-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a resolution of 720 × 1520 pixels. It might be powered by MediaTek Helio P60 SoC while other leaks suggest Snapdragon 600-series SoC. Coming to the storage variants, the device would come in three different storages sporting 3GB/4GB RAM and possibly 6GB variant too. In terms of onboard storage, the smartphone will come with various combinations of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. There is a dual camera setup at the back having a 13-megapixel primary sensor and 5-megapixel secondary camera. On the other hand, there is no word on the front camera setup so for that, we have to wait for the official launch.
Another thing which previously leaked promo poster tipped us is the pricing of the device. The 32GB variant of Nokia 5.1 Plus or Nokia X5 might come with a price tag of 799 CNY (approximately Rs 8,289) while the 64GB internal storage variant will set you back 999 CNY (approximately Rs 10,364). HMD Global is more likely to launch this device in China with a lower price tag as compared to global launch. The Indian launch will have higher pricing so don’t get your hopes way high.
Speaking of the Indian launch, there is no word on the dates, pricing, and availability as of now. You might have to wait a little longer for Nokia X5 or Nokia 5.1 Plus.
