The Vivo Y53s is here with Snapdragon 480 5G chipset on-board. Is it a part of the Y53 series where the standard model was launched back in March 2017? Perhaps it seems logical that the device is a successor to Vivo Y52s launched last year.

The Vivo Y53s 5G brings onboard a 6.58-inch 90Hz FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop-shaped notch at the front that houses its 8MP selfie shooter. The device is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G chipset paired alongside 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. There’s no hint whether the device has a dedicated or hybrid microSD card slot or not.

Moving on, the phone has a rectangular camera bump at the back with curved edges. It houses a 64MP primary sensor along with a macro sensor that can capture shots at a 4cm distance from the subject. The back panel is a polycarbonate plastic for durability and of course because of its price tag.

The phone has dimensions of 163.95 x 75.3 x 8.5mm and weighs just 189grams which makes it light to hold. This is commendable given the fact that Y53s has a massive 5000 mAh battery that is rated to offer 25 hours of video and 140 hours of music playback. An 18W charging support will juice up the battery at a rapid pace.

Next up, the phone arrives with Android 11-based OriginOS 1.0 out-of-the-box since it is available in China only at this point. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the device.

Talking about the pricing, the base 8GB+128GB variant is available at CNY 1,799 or $281 while the higher 8GB+256GB variant is available at CNY 1,999 or $312. The device is up for pre-orders and its first sale will be on June 11.
