- OnePlus 16 leaks mentions a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 Pro under the hood, the most powerful chipset of 'em all.
- OnePlus 16 reportedly to get a 200Hz+ refresh rate using a custom BOE LIPO panel with 1mm thick symmetrical bezels around the edges.
- OnePlus 16 is slated to arrive in October/November this year, if everything goes as planned.
We got yet another hit under ‘OnePlus 16 leaks’ from a reputable tipster, according to whom the OnePlus 16 will see a ~200Hz HHR BOE panel and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC under the hood. Of course, the specs sheet on OnePlus phones is predictable, but it is always good to see leaks coming from across the Indian subcontinent, where OnePlus pioneers and dominates. Here’s a peek into everything the latest specs leak talks about.
OnePlus 16 leaks reveal display technology details
Well, first things first, Digital Chat Station (DCS) says the upcoming OnePlus 16 could feature a 6.78” custom-made BOE LTPO flat panel boasting a resolution of 1.5K. The display uses something called LIP packaging technology that ends up making it extremely slim and with symmetrical bezels across all four sides. In fact, we are hearing about the bezels being 1mm in width, and that’s huge.
What’s more interesting is the fact that the Chinese smartphone maker is seeking to bring up to 240Hz refresh rate as it is being evaluated. The minimum we can expect is 185Hz, which is by far better than 165Hz on the OnePlus 15. For the unversed, we heard about the OnePlus 16 display leaks a few months ago, which you can read here. We are sticking with the north of 200Hz on the high frequency response (HHR), although let’s give it some breathing room, as we are still way too early for its purported launch in the last quarter of this year.
OnePlus 16 leaks highlight Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset details
DCS recently spoke about both the display tech and the chipset onboard the OnePlus 16. According to the tipster, OP16 will get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 Pro, which happens to be top-of-the-line in the powerful chipset catalog (although it hasn’t been released yet). There’s LPDDR6 RAM; we are hoping it’s 256GB to 1TB, which should ideally make OP16 a performance-oriented phone, as usual.

The OnePlus 16 is expected to arrive in the last quarter of this year. It usually happens in October right after Qualcomm launches their latest Snapdragon chipset. It is around the same time as Xiaomi rolls out its flagship phone alongside competitors.
