- OnePlus is expected to launch it's next-gen Ace 5 series in the last quarter this year.
- OnePlus Ace 5 series will see flagship-cadre specifications minus a few things to keep the price affordable as usual.
- The vanilla Ace 5 will be rebranded as OnePlus 13R once the device is released globally earlier next year.
Corroborating with previous reports and the latest one coming from a reputed tipster, we have been told that OnePlus could introduce the OnePlus Ace 5 series in the last quarter of this year. You might say, where’s the OnePlus 4 series?
Well, It is a Chinese custom according to whom, the digit ‘4’ is considered an omen and thus, OnePlus will skip the series entirely to roll out the OnePlus Ace 5 series.
OnePlus Ace 5 Series Could Arrive by Q4 This Year
According to Digital Chat Station (DCS) via Weibo, the OnePlus Ace 5 series comprising two models — OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro, are expected to make their debut in China in the last quarter of this year i.e, October to December.
For context, we are already in late August and will enter the last (and third) month of the third quarter of this year. It means we are barely a few weeks away from the purported launch timeline.
For the unversed, the vanilla OnePlus Ace 5 will be rebranded as the OnePlus 13R for its global launch earlier next year. The past three vanilla models were launched in January, February, and April, in descending order of launch.
This puts the OnePlus Ace 5’s purported launch in Q4 2024 a bit earlier than ever before. We should see OnePlus Ace 5 Pro during the launch as well, although it might not make it to the global markets.
OnePlus Ace 5 Series Specifications (Leaked)
We already reported about OnePlus Ace 5 series specifications that were leaked by tipster DCS. It includes a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC on the vanilla and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC on the Pro variant pitting it against the yet-unreleased OnePlus 13 due to arrive this year in China followed by its global launch in early 2025.
According to previous leaks, the OnePlus Ace 5 series will pick up a 6.78” 1.5K 8T LTPO micro-curved panel. There will be a large 6,200mAh paired with 100W where OnePlus could probably use OnePlus Glacier Technology to pack in such a beef without adding to the dimensions of the batteries.
Beyond that, a 100W fast charging will take away battery juice rejuvenation. For context, the OnePlus Ace 3 sports a 5.500mAh battery making the Ace 5 a sure-shot giant.
