If you were wondering when OnePlus could debut its foldable phone, well, it’s sometime in August this year. OnePlus’s Pete Leu spoke at the MWC 2023 held earlier this year that the OnePlus Fold will make its launch later this year. The recent timeline comes from tipster Max Jambor according to whom, OnePlus’ first-ever foldable phone will make a splash in the global market in August 2023.

The renewed but leaked timeline gives us just a few months to wait for the foldable device, likely dubbed as OnePlus V Fold or OnePlus V Flip. Jambor further added that the first device will be a flip foldable phone although there are two types of foldable phones at work at OnePlus.

We have seen the clamshell flip design in foldable devices further. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series, Motorola Razr, and the Oppo N2 Flip are just a few examples of flip phones. On the other hand, Galaxy Z Fold, Huawei Mate X, and Oppo Find N2 are a few examples when it comes to inward folding phones.

With that being said, rumors have it that the upcoming OnePlus Fold will be rebranded version of the Oppo Find N2. For the unversed, it is not the first time Oppo phones will be rebranded as OnePlus devices.

If that’s true, we already have all the specifications that Oppo Find N2 brought on board although expect certain changes to make it fit international markets.

OnePlus Find N2 arrives with a 5.54” AMOLED outer and a 7.1” LTPO AMOLED inner panel with a 120Hz refresh rate each. There’s a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC under the hood with Adreno GPU, up to 512GB of storage, and 16GB of RAM.

On the optics side, we have a triple array at the back consisting of a 50MP Sony IMX890 with OIS, an 8MP UW lens, and a 13MP telephoto with 2X optical zoom. There’s also a 32MP selfie shooter onboard. A beefy 4,520mAh battery takes care of the power requirements while a 67W fast charging ensures speedy recharges.
