While people and brands are getting more into bezel-less, notch-less displays of smartphones, Samsung is thinking so far for i.e., the future of smartphone’s display, the foldable display with their Galaxy series, the Samsung Galaxy F.

Because 2018 was so boring at the high end of Samsung’s smartphone line, 2019 is going to be a very important year for the world’s top smartphone vendor. The good news, of course, is that it’s shaping up to be a huge year indeed for Samsung.

Noticed first by GizmoChina, Samsung Mobile’s profile image has just been on Twitter to a logo which folds to fit into the frame. The folding effect is seen on the ‘S’ letter, flipping the ‘Samsung’ text from midway. Well, Samsung couldn’t have been more direct here about what it’s teasing.

We have only rumors to go on for now. They describe the Samsung Galaxy F as having two screens – an internal one with a 7.3” diagonal and a 4.6” external screen. So, it will be like a flip phone, the large internal screen will be protected while the phone is closed. Compare that to the design of the FlexPai, which has one screen that remains on the outside.

Apart from the teaser image, Samsung hasn’t officially disclosed anything. More details are likely to follow closer to the developer conference which begins later this week.

Samsung CEO DJ Koh in August this year had said that the company planned to launch the long-delayed foldable phone at the earliest as it didn’t want to lose “the world’s first” title.

Koh added that the company was “focusing on developing innovations that will be genuinely accepted and liked by consumers” for the foldable phones.

Latest reports call the foldable phone the Galaxy F, but it has seen a lot of other names in the past. It was initially codenamed Project Valley and later Project Winner. More recently, it was widely being called the Galaxy X, to mark a change in design much like the iPhone X.
