The registrations for the OriginOS 7 beta program have begun. Available to a handful of models across the Vivo and iQOO portfolio, signing up for the beta program gives users early access to the upcoming software before it hits other devices.
Rolling out in China, the OriginOS 7 beta program brings a few models eligible for the update, with more devices joining in the coming weeks.

The following is the list of phones eligible for the first phase of beta testing on OriginOS 7 beta.
- Vivo X Fold6
- Vivo X300 Pro
- Vivo Pad6 Pro
- iQOO 15
- iQOO Pad 6 Pro
The registration has already begun as you read this. The official timestamp says July 30th at 10:00 AM (China time) till August 4 at 11:59 PM (China time), of course. Unfortunately, we don’t have any clarity on when the program will be released to more devices and to more markets.
The aim is to fine-tune the upcoming OriginOS 7.0 as it prepares a stable launch later this year. No doubt this will be based on Android 16 initially before propagating to Android 17 once the latter rolls out in September/October this year.
Since this is a beta program, the updates are part of ongoing refinements. Therefore, expect bugs not limited to apps not launching, jarring motion when using the phone, lagging, and battery drain, to name a few.

Call it OriginOS 7 or OriginOS 7.0; the full changelog for the update hasn’t appeared publicly just yet. OriginOS 7 is the latest build that brings physics-based fluid animations, enhanced customization, and more, likely to overpower last-gen OriginOS 6.0.
The latest update is likely to bring next-gen AI capabilities on the eligible phones, including deeper intelligence, voice assistance, real-time contextual awareness, etc. Vivo is focusing on varied form factors, and thus, OriginOS 7.0 beta is being tested across layouts from regular to large tablet-size to foldable phones. Other optimizations include reduced battery consumption on standby, strict background RAM usage limitation, and better system security frameworks.
As of now, Vivo’s OriginOS 7.0 beta is available for the aforementioned models in China. Soon, we will get our hands on the global variant as well, possibly around September, before marking its global stable launch in the coming weeks.
