Realme X50M 5G launched with Snapdragon 765G, 120Hz Display, 48MP Cameras and more

Realme has finally tossed the much talked conventional variant of its Realme X50 in China – Realme X50M 5G. This is the third X50 series device after the Realme X50 5G which was announced earlier this year. According to the previous reports, this device was primarily named Realme X50 Youth Editon. The first sale of the phone will be carried out in China on April 29 for a starting price of CNY 1999 (roughly 21,500 INR).

We already know what Realme hid under its sleeve with the X50M before the launch, thanks to series of leaks that came out in the past. As one would already expect, the Realme X50M is a mid-range smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC. The device comes with an IPS LCD display, unlike the Realme X50 Pro which boasts an AMOLED display. But the refresh rate is bumped from 90Hz to 120Hz here! Also, the device comes equipped with a 48 MP Quad rear camera setup.

On paper, the device looks similar to Realme X50 5G launched in January this year. But there are a few changes in terms of performance, camera and etc. For starters, the X50M comes with 765G instead of Snapdragon 765 on Realme X50.

Realme X50M Specifications and Features

Realme X50M features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The aspect ratio of this display is 20:9 and is almost bezeless, thanks to the punch-hole display notch. The display of X50M comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and is protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass.

As discussed earlier the Realme X50M is a mid-range smartphone that comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC. The 765G is the gaming-oriented variant of the standard Snapdragon 765 processor. The 765G houses an octa-core processor with eight Kryo 475 cores divided into two clusters. The chipset do support 5G out of the box, making it one of the earliest mid-range device to come with 5G support. The Realme X50 comes in two variants. The base variant comes 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage. The top variant comes with 8 GB of RAM and the same 128 GB onboard storage.

Realme X50M features a quad rear camera setup which includes a 48 MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The secondary sensor is an 8 MP ultra-wide unit with a 119-degree field of view. The third sensor is a 2 MP depth-sensing unit and the fourth unit is also a 2 MP unit but is a monochrome sensor. The dual-camera setup at the front includes a 16 MP primary selfie shooter along with a 2 MP depth sensor. The rear camera can shoot 4K 30 FPS video without stabilization and the front can shoot 1080P 30 FPS video.

The Realme X50M comes with Android 10 out of the box with Realme UI on top. Realme UI is a feature-rich interface that comes with system-wide dark mode, screen recording with internal audio, One-handed mode, Screen Off display and the list goes on. The fingerprint sensor right side of the display which is the part of the power button. All this is backed by a 4200 mAh battery which supports 30 W fast charging which allows the users to change up to 70% in 30 minutes.

The Realme X50M comes in two variants. The base 6 GB RAM variant with 128 GB of internal storage is priced at 1,999 Yuan (roughly 21,500 INR or $282). The second variant comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage is priced at 2,299 Yuan (roughly 24,700 INR or $324). The device is available in two colors to choose from — Starry Blue and Galaxy White. The sale of this device starts on April 29 in China. There is no word if Realme has plans to bring this device to other markets yet!
