The information comes from a reputable tipster, Ice Universe, who took on X (formerly Twitter) to share three major changes coming to the Galaxy S27 Ultra in comparison to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. If this turns out to be accurate, this could position the S27 Ultra as the most ambitious Galaxy smartphone yet.
First, the tipster reveals that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will deliver a warmer color temperature compared to the previous generation. In practical life, the change would improve the image’s overall appearance by making it warmer in tone instead of keeping it cooler in tone.
Second, the flagship is said to get improvement in highlight handling. According to the tipster, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will better preserve details when it is used to capture small or bright subjects from a distance. Notably, the improvement will reportedly be focused on both the primary camera and the 5x telephoto camera.
Finally, the leak suggests Samsung is working on improving low-light condition photography. Generally, if a photo is taken in low-light conditions, the result looks distorted or poor quality. With the upcoming flagship model, the company appears to work on the camera that could produce smoother images with less noise in low-light or dark conditions.

First, the renders surfaced via OnLeaks in collaboration with Android Headline, revealing what the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra would look like. Based on the leaked render images, the device can be seen featuring a triple rear camera setup.
The possibility of a major camera redesign was then strengthened when the tipster Ice Universe also reiterated that the Galaxy S27 Ultra could eliminate one rear camera, making it a triple rear camera.
With a triple camera setup, Samsung is likely to retain the 5x telephoto camera and drop the idea of providing an additional 3x telephoto lens. It remains to be seen how this change would affect its camera when it comes to zooming capabilities.
That said, the company is also rumored to equip Samsung’s ISOCELL HP6 sensor in its primary camera, noting the fact that the 3x telephoto lens is being removed.
Launch timeline
The Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, along with Galaxy S27+ and Galaxy S27, is reportedly planned for a global launch in early 2027, probably at the Galaxy Unpacked event.
