  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold9 series releasing next year could bring five members.
  • The series could bring two wide Folds, a conventional fold, a clamshell fold, and a second-gen TriFold.
  • This comes right after the massive success of Fold8 series and we could see the same repeat for Fold9 series in August 2027.

Samsung foldable phones are all the rage. Turns out the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 received such a positive response, so much so that the South Korean giant has increased the production target by 1 million units this year. With that being said, ETNews and tipster Ice Universe are preparing for not one or two but rather five foldable phones under the Galaxy Z9 series.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold9 lineup could have five models

The tipster mentions potential nomenclature used by these five members: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold9 Wide, Galaxy Z Fold9 Wide (2), Galaxy Z Fold9 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip9, and Galaxy Z TriFold 2. For the unversed, the second wide Galaxy Z Fold9 will be a new addition, while the TriFold 2 is a successor to December 2025’s original TriFold. As per the reports, the Galaxy Z Flip FE is gone, given that the foldable market at Samsung is already saturated.

Specs-wise, the Z Fold9 will have a wide form factor with a 4:3 aspect ratio. The phone is still in the inception stage, and we may not have much to discuss about it at this point. A second wide foldable phone could be released as well, suitable for watching videos with either a 16:9 or 21:9 aspect ratio. Moving on, we have the conventional book-style Galaxy Z Fold9 Ultra with a 9:10 aspect ratio. It is, for the unversed, taller than it is wider and will be similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip9 will be a clamshell-styled phone, of course. It will have a taller display; although I never loved its foldable form, I don’t know why. It is still a much-acclaimed phone, as you can easily spot this form factor while walking on the roads.

Lastly, we have the Galaxy Z TriFold 2 (or second-gen Z TriFold), and as the name suggests, it will have a triple-folding screen. Released in 2025, the original TriFold saw limited release as it was launched as an experimental device. However, the successor should show promising results once it arrives sometime next year.
