Nokia is back with a new smartphone and it is something the smartphone giant launched silently on its Russian website. Nokia C01 Plus is the latest addition and an entry-level smartphone powered by Android 11 Go Edition. It is not the same as Nokia C1 Plus although it shares the same design DNA with the device but brings a lot of specifications on-board.

The Nokia C01 Plus sports a 5.45-inch HD+ display without any notch and an aspect ratio of 18:9. There’s no notch so you get a thick forehead along with a thick chin and bezels around the edges. The front camera houses a 5MP sensor with a flash for great HDR shots. On the back, you get another 5MP sensor with a flash housed in a tiny camera bump in the middle plus a Nokia branding on the back.

The device is powered by Unisoc SC9863A octa-core chipset that enables it to process calculations faster and smoother. It is combined with 1GB RAM and Dual 4G SIM support for faster processing and faster internet connection allowing for faster downloads and more. C01 Plus is paired with 16GB of internal storage while a dedicated microSD card slot takes up to 128GB which is great for an entry-level smartphone.

Moving on, there’s facial recognition on-board that works decently although it is software-based but does its job. You won’t find a fingerprint scanner on-board so you will have to rely on the face unlock or the usual PIN or Pattern systems.

The device is available in two colors as per the Nokia Russia website i.e. Blue and Purple and carries a price tag of RUB6,490 which translates to $90 (at the time of writing this). Nokia C01 Plus is up for pre-orders and the shipping will commence soon. There are no words on its availability in other parts of the world at this moment.
