There was a lot of talk about Sony and its upcoming PlayStation release with the fact that the company had not yet revealed how exactly the console looks. Also because Microsoft showcased its Xbox Series X design a long time ago, the curiosity among users and fans was growing. Finally, Sony decided that it is time to reveal the final design of its upcoming PlayStation 5 and a lot of memes have followed the reveal. Just like Xbox Series X’s design, people are on both sides of the fence when it comes to the PlayStation 5 design.

But we have something else to look forward to as well with the Sony PS5 which is its UI. Sony has said that now that we have seen the hardware and the details of the components are also known, it will reveal the user interface of upcoming PS5 very soon. The company also hypes up the announcement by saying that they will leave “no pixel untouched” when they redesign the UI of Sony PS5 meaning that it will look completely different from what we see on the Sony PS4 series.

Sony’s VP of UX design at PlayStation, Matt MacLaurin, says that “As it’s UI it’s practical first, but it’s a whole new visual language and a complete rearchitecting of the user interface,”. Matt mentions that the design will be “more subtle than flashy, but no pixel is untouched,”. The company also shared a little teaser of the upcoming UI changes in action which was reported by Tom Warren from TheVerge.

Regarding the hardware of Sony PS5 and its design, there has been a lot of talk about the white PS5 and the chances of a matte black PS5 down the line on which MacLaurin says “maybe”. He also mentions that “there will be a special edition for everyone.” which does tell us one thing that there will be a lot of special editions and a black variant could be one of the first.
