Do you remember about the mysterious Nokia Daredevil that I wrote about before? You can read about it here. Well, turns out it is actually an upcoming Nokia 5.2 based on a tweet that appeared from the Twitter handle Nokia anew.

Till yesterday, the mysterious device with a triple camera snapper mounted on its back arranged in a square within a circular camera bump was called Nokia Daredevil. But as per the tweet, turns out HMD, the parent company to Nokia, will bring OZO Audio, Zeiss (that was clearly mentioned on the camera lens) and PureDisplay to Nokia 5.2 as it has been uplifted to a premium segment. Since last year’s Nokia 5.1 was recently replaced by a mid-range Nokia 4, the upcoming Nokia 5.2 will get premium features and will be targeting a premium price range as well.

Considering the previous leaks, we know that the Nokia Daredevil aka 5.2 sports an FHD+ screen which is likely to be LCD rather than OLED since the fingerprint scanner is mounted behind the rear camera setup rather than under-the-display as many OLED smartphones would do. Furthermore, the device is powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC paired along with Adreno 512 and a 3,500 mAh battery will power the device throughout the day.

Finally, the device will have triple camera setup at the back as I said along with a 48MP primary sensor with Zeiss optics, another ultra wide-angle sensor and a third one for which, we don’t know the specifications. Note that there is a different Nokia 5.2 smartphone waiting to go on sale in India which has an iPhone X-like notch while this Nokia 5.2 (Daredevil) has a teardrop-shaped notch. This hints at an apparent change in moniker in India as Nokia has already done it several times with Nokia 6.1 Plus in India to Nokia X6 in China which are the same phones with different monikers.
