We have reported that the iPhone SE 3, also known as the 2022 iPhone SE, will be launching as early as March or April this year. This will be at Apple’s Spring event where the device is expected to come with spec-bump and 5G support.

Now, we have a new report that another major product will get an upgrade at the Apple Spring event. This new product is the 2022 Apple iPad Air which already got a major redesign last year. We already saw the iPad Air getting the same design as the iPad Pro along with performance improvements.

At the Spring event, Apple will release the new 2022 iPad Air along with Apple’s A15 chip and 5G support which will be more of a spec-bump release. Japanese blog Mac Otakara says that they have a “reliable source in China” claiming that iPhone SE 3 and iPad Air 5th gen will be released at the same time.

It is also worth noting that the cameras on the 2022 iPad Air are also not expected to be increased. This means we will only see a single-lens setup on the back of the 5th generation iPad Air which was launched back in late 2020.

Earlier, it was known that the iPad Air, as its name suggests, would be the thinnest and lightest product in Apple’s iPad lineup. However, that ideology has changed over the years to now being an iPad which is powerful but not as powerful as the iPad Pro.

Also, it is said that the 10.9-inch screen size of the iPad Air will remain the same this year which means that only the 5G support and Apple A15 Bionic chip will be of interest to potential upgraders.

Those people who want the best performance from their iPad can go for this model, the rest can still keep using the iPad Air 4th generation because it will still be powerful.
