Marketed as spatial computing in glasses, the XReal Aura, powered by Google Android XR, is launching soon. Apparently, the XR glasses are already up for pre-orders with the availability commencing this fall. Here’s what you need to know about Aura.

XReal Aura pre-orders begin at $99

XReal showcased the XR glasses dubbed XReal Aura at the Augmented World Expo (AWE) happening this week, and now, the device is already up for pre-orders. Earlier dubbed as Project Aura, the XReal Aura is powered by the Google Android XR platform and draws power from the X1S Spatial Coprocessor and Snapdragon Reality Elite platform, clubbed with 12+256GB or 16+512GB configurations.

There’s a humongous 4,455mAh battery under the hood on board a ‘Computing Puck,’ which is a companion to XReal Aura. Unlike Meta Ray-Ban Display or Rayneo X3 Pro glasses, Aura is not a standalone pair of glasses but requires the aforementioned puck to function.

Its specs include a set of micro-OLED panels with a resolution of 1,920×1,200 pixels per eye and a 70° see-through FoV with a 120Hz refresh rate. The cameras on board Aura are 6DoF spatial, capable of handling spatial awareness and hand tracking, and paired with Gemini real-time AI perception that makes these glasses XR.

XReal Aura pricing and availability

Well, there’s no official update on the final pricing just yet. However, given that the AR glasses are readying their pre-orders, the reservations for the Founder Pass retail for $299, limited to the first 2,000 units.

There’s also a $99 launch credit reservation that doubles to $199 in discount when Aura is actually available for shipping. The pricing on the XReal Aura is likely to be less than $1,500 before taxes. The availability is scheduled for this fall, although we aren’t aware of the actual date of launch as of now.
