OPPO has been trying to foray into the international markets for quite some time now. With the launch of OPPO R11 and R11 Plus last year, it managed to turn some heads since these were the first ever smartphones to pack the Snapdragon 660 chipset. The Snapdragon 600 series featured the Kryo cores which provide smoother performance.

There have been rumours about the next device from OPPO which will most probably include the Snapdragon 670 processor. The OPPO R-series is expected to come with the above-mentioned chipset. The first set of leak points out to the two new OPPO devices which come with the model numbers “PAAT00” and “PAAM00”. These devices were earlier spotted on 3C, the Chinese certification site.

According to the reports, the aforementioned devices have support for 20W fast charging and it is expected that these devices will be the successor to the last year’s R11 and R11 Plus. OPPO, Vivo, and OnePlus come under one brand and its patented VOOC fast charging technology is similar to that of OnePlus Dash charging, which is pretty obvious. The VOOC fast charging technology is only available on OPPO R-series handsets as of now and might be compatible with the company’s future devices.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 chipset was recently leaked and its probably the first ever mid-range chipset to be built on the 10nm FinFET process which is an upgraded version of the 10nm process and is being used on the Snapdragon 845 and Exynos 9810, too. The CPU comes with Adreno 615 GPU and the gigabit modem from Qualcomm. The processor does pack Cortex A55 cores which are referred to as Kryo 300 Silver and two Cortex A75 cores which are called Kryo 300 Gold. The GeekBench scored of the same were leaked earlier where Snapdragon 670 scored 1845 in single core and 5215 in multi-core tests.

As of now, there have been some leaks on the devices and its said that they are most likely to include the under-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock. Also, some leaks suggest that it’ll be a selfie-centric device with a dual camera setup at the rear with a 20MP+16MP shooter and a front camera with 24MP. These leaks have not yet been confirmed or have not been received from a credible source and hence should be taken with a pinch of salt.
