After scoring more than 68,000 units of Pocophone F1 sold in just five minutes of launch on Flipkart flash sale, it’s the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the first smartphone from Nokia to sport a notch display, which recently clocked around 27,000 units sold in just three minutes before Flipkart went out of stock. The sale started at 12:00 p.m. on Flipkart and ended when the clock ticked 12:03 p.m.
According to Flipkart, it was selling around 150 phones a second and since it didn’t provide the total number of units sold, GSMArena did a math by calculating the total phones sold in a minute multiplied by the total time it took for the phone to go out of stock i.e. 150 phones multiplied by 180 seconds which is 27,000 units. But Nokia 6.1 Plus isn’t available on Flipkart only, even the official handle for Nokia had placed the phone up for purchase which means, the figure is a lot higher than what we can calculate. Nokia could come up with the exact figure in the coming days though.
Flipkart has put the phone as ‘Coming Soon’ where the user can feed in their email address to get a notification when the product is available again. Flipkart will soon place the Nokia 6.1 Plus on sale on September 6 at 12 noon after Nokia restocks it across Flipkart and it’s own website as well.
Nokia 6.1 Plus which was released in China as the Nokia X6, is the first Nokia smartphone to offer a notch display. The smartphone is baked with several top-end features such as its 5.8” IPS LCD display with 1080×2280 pixel resolution, 432 PPI density, and an aspect ratio of 19:9 along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the device sports Android One-enabled Android 8.1 Oreo which runs on a Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 509 GPU, 4GB RAM, and an 64GB internal storage for India.
