Nokia 6.1 Plus Launch Tomorrow at 12 PM, Starting at Rs. 15,999

Good news for all those who were eagerly waiting for Nokia to release its Nokia 6.1 Plus in India. Nokia is all set to release the latest smartphone in India on August 30 at 12 pm local time with a price tag of INR 15,999 or around $226 excluding offers and discounts that will be added during the sale.

Nokia 6.1 Plus is the first notched smartphone from Nokia that was available in China for months now under the moniker Nokia X6. The device will have a 64GB/4GB RAM variant for Indian market though there is a 32GB/4GB RAM and 64GB/6GB RAM variant available too but will not be available for the Indian market.

The device has pretty cool specs list such as it sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 with octa-core 1.8 GHz processor along with Adreno 509 GPU. It will have a built-in storage of 64GB that can be further expanded to 400GB using a hybrid SIM 2 slot which is both boon or con depending upon how you see it.

About the topics, Nokia 6.1 Plus will have a 16MP primary sensor with pixel size of 1.0micrometer and an aperture of f/2.0 while the secondary sensor will have a 5MP sensor coupled with 1.12micrometer pixel size and aperture of f/2.4 depth-sensing camera. The front assembly has a single 16MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.0 and a pixel size of 1.0micrometer. Note that the Chinese variant of Nokia 6.1 Plus or X6 had an average camera and considering the fact that Nokia is releasing the phone in India market, we could assume that it must have tweaked the camera performance.

The device has a massive 2.5D curved 5.8-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device will be rolled out with Android 8.1 Oreo but with Android One programme which means, it will surely receive an Android 9.0 Pie update once Google releases it publicly. It has a front and back glass sandwich design with an aluminum frame.

The device has Nokia’s fast charging capability i.e. Quick Charge 3.0 capable of charging the phone up to 50 percent in half an hour using its USB C Charging port that will charge it’s average 3,060 mAh non-removable Li-ion battery cased in its 8mm thick chassis which has a dimension of 147.2x71x8mm. It will compete for head-on with Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi Mi A2, Vivo V9, and likes.

The smartphone is up for pre-orders on official Nokia website as well as on Flipkart at Rs. 15,999 where the interested can buyer add their contact details to get a notification once it releases tomorrow, August 30, at 12 p.m. About the offers, Flipkart is offering a No Cost EMI on HDFC credit cards as well as an exchange price of up to Rs. 15,000 off. Airtel is offering an Rs. 1,800 cashback with 240GB data (annually) with a monthly recharge of Rs. 199, 249 or 448.
