HMD Global has started sending out media invites for their upcoming launch event to be held on October 04 (Global) and October 11 (India). Although the Finnish company didn’t specify which smartphone we might see next after Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 6.1 Plus, sources suggest that it could be the Indian version of Nokia X7 which will bear the moniker Nokia 7.1 Plus courtesy to the nomenclature Nokia has been following with all its previous smartphones.
Thanks to the numerous leaks that have been registered for past few days, we know that Nokia is expected to launch a new midrange smartphone i.e. Nokia 7.1 Plus that was recently spotted on TENAA with the model number Nokia TA-1131 which is also known as Nokia X7 in China and will be available in at least two color variants i.e. Brownish and Silver-ish.
Nokia 7.1 Plus expected specifications and features
As per the TENAA listing, a supposedly Nokia 7.1 Plus will sport a 6.18-inch FHD+ TFT display with 1080 x 2246 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. Under the hood, the smartphone will have an octa-core 2.2 GHz chipset which is expected to be at least Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 since it is a midrange smartphone. Although Nokia has plans to launch a hypothetical Nokia 9 with Snapdragon 845 SoC that’s something we aren’t concerned, at least for now.
The listing also states that Nokia 7.1 Plus will come in two different storage variants – 4GB RAM/64GB onboard storage and 6GB RAM/128GB of internal storage. Then, we have camera assembly which is composed of a vertically aligned dual-camera setup at the rear with 13MP+12MP sensors while the front came poses a 20MP sensor for excellent selfies backed by a decent 3,400 mAh Li-Ion battery pack which is still more bigger than the recently launched Nokia 5.1 Plus.
Finally, about the looks, the front has a small notch display that resembles more than Nokia 5.1 Plus while the back looks more like Nokia 6.1 Plus but anyhow, what smartphones look different nowadays (Apple). It is still unclear whether the smartphone has an Android 8.1 Oreo or the new Android Pie 9.0 but it will be Android One enabled so nothing to worry about. We don’t know about the pricing and its availability as of now since we will have to wait until the October 4 event to be held in London for more information.
