Nubia Red Magic smartphones are one of the most sought after when it comes to gaming phones. It wasn’t long with Nubia Red Magic 5G made a splash in April with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Cut to now, Nubia’s President Ni Fei made a not-so cryptic post of Chinese social media network Weibo teasing the upcoming Red Magic 5S.
Although the post is rather a bit cryptic, it is easy to decipher it according to which, Red Magic 5S will be the first-ever phone from Nubia to host a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+, an overclocked version of Snapdragon 865 that Qualcomm announced after much hype.
The post says “beyond Plus” which is a nod to Snapdragon 865+ that has a 10% higher CPU performance thanks top its overclocked 3.1GHz Prime core while the GPU has received a much-needed 10% hike in graphics rendering performance as well.
There’s no update as the expected features on Red Magic 5S but given the fact that it will sport Snapdragon 865+, it should also include support to Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and an improved 144Hz refresh rate support that should translate in Red Magic 5S too since it is usually the top-of-the-line flagship phone. Snapdragon 865+ also deliverx existing X55 5G modem for mmWave and sub-6 GHz support as well as Quick Charge 4.0+ and AI control to name a few.
At the moment, we aren’t aware of the specs and there’s no release date associated with it as well. Thus, we will have to wait some more to get a clear picture.
