We know that people, especially the Android purists, love to hate Oppo when it comes to their smartphones because we know they have their skin on top of Android known as ColorOS which is seen as a straight-up iOS copy and similar to other skins like MIUI and RealmeUI.
However, it is a fact that Oppo sells a lot of mid-range smartphones in the world including India and people actually like their UI. So the company will keep on launching new phones based on the same UI and they have just announced their latest flagship series as well.
This is the Oppo F17 series which comes with F17 and the F17 Pro. Also, Oppo is expanding its range of audio products in the Indian market by launching their Oppo Enco W51 truly wireless earbuds.
As we have seen from the feedback of Oppo Enco W21 and the W31, they are likely to be best-in-class. However, the fact that Oppo is offering Active Noise Cancellation at just Rs. 4990 is unbelievable and beats the Oppo Buds in pricing and features which is quite awkward.
As for the smartphones themselves, Oppo F17 and F17 Pro come with a square-shaped module at the back which looks similar to the iPhone 11 Pro module. There is a pill-shaped punch-hole display at the front with dual selfie cameras. In total, the devices come with six cameras but we know some of them will be just for the numbers and quantity.
Anyways, Oppo F17 comes with 11nm Snapdragon 662 processor and has Qualcomm’s Adreno 610 GPU with whereas the Oppo F17 Pro comes with MediaTek Helio P95 SoC. The Oppo F17 comes loaded with 4GB RAM while the F17 Pro contains 8GB of RAM. Storage on the F17 is capped at 64GB while the F17 Pro gets 128GB internal storage as standard.
On the front, while the Oppo F17 Pro has a dual-camera setup in the pill-shaped punch-hole, F17 only has a single camera in teardrop notch. The F17’s front camera is a 16MP primary camera while the F17 Pro comes with 16MP+2MP setup. As for the back, F17 comes with a 16MP primary camera at the back while F17 Pro has a 48MP primary camera while the rest of the cameras are identical. This includes an 8MP wide-angle, 2MP telephoto and a 2MP macro lens.
As for the price, Oppo F17 Pro’s only variant with 8+128GB configuration will be sold for Rs. 22,990 both offline and online while the F17’s pricing is not known yet. Oppo Enco W51’s pricing is Rs. 4990 which is a stellar deal for ANC, as mentioned earlier, but its availability is not known as of now.
