ZTE just unveiled its mid-range S30 series 5G smartphones i.e. ZTE S30, S30 Pro, and S30 SE. The trio has some of the best specifications in the mid-range segment and hosts 5G connectivity as well. Here’s more about it.
ZTE S30 Pro
The ZTE S30 Pro arrives with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G chipset under the hood with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device runs on MyOS 11 skin based on Android 11.
There’s a heat pipe that keeps the device cool while the software adds 3GB of RAM via its memory fusion tech to make it speedy and snappier. The device has a 5G antenna placed strategically to allow better 5G reception irrespective of how you orient it.
The device comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED 144Hz panel with a 1080p+ resolution, a 100 percent DCI-P3 color space, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. There’s a tiny punch-hole at the top-center that houses the front camera. The lit display houses a fingerprint scanner at the bottom and boasts a brightness of 800 nits.
Moving on, we have a humongous 4,200 mAh battery supplied with 55W fast charging support for those who love their batteries to have massive battery life and charge faster. Talking about the cameras on-board, the device has a quad-camera setup at the back housed in a rectangular camera setup. It houses a 64MP primary along with an 8MP ultrawide with 120-degree FoV, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth. There’s a massive 44MP selfie shooter that users Snapdragon AI resources to crunch better photos and videos.
About the pricing, the ZTE S30 Pro will be available from April 3 in China and its single configuration goes on sale at CNY 3,000 or $460.
ZTE S30
The standard ZTE S30 now sports a Dimensity 720 SoC under the hood and it is available in 8GB+128GB and there’s an 8GB+256GB variant available too. The device has a heat pipe too designed as that of ZTE S30 Pro for heat dissipation. The device has a 6.67-inch 1080p+ LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 95 percent NTSC color rendering. The device cranks up the refresh rate to 144Hz when playing intensive games.
ZTE S30 gets a slightly smaller 4,000 mAh battery with a 30W fast charging tech which doesn’t come closer to S30 Pro’ 55W fast charging tech. Proceeding further, the rear quad-camera setup on-board S30 remains the same as S30 Pro. The front camera has been downgraded to a 16MP sensor which still makes up for a quality video shooting. There are auto-generated subtitles which is a great feature for those who want to transcribe people’s speeches.
Talking about the pricing, the ZTE S30 with 8GB+128GB is available at CNY 2,200 while paying CNY 200 more would give you access to 8GB+256GB of storage. There’s no microSD card slot for either of the three. It will be available in China on April 3.
ZTE S30 SE
Last but not least is the ZTE S30 SE which is a 5G smartphone with Dimensity 700 chipset under the hood. The device does get a 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. S30 SE has the same display as the vanilla version i.e. 6.67-inch LCD 1080p+ resolution.
ZTE S30 SE gets an ever-larger battery at 6,000 mAh while the charging speed drops to 18W so it means, you will have to wait for a while to juice up the battery. The device has a 3.5mm headphone and a USB-C port for data transfer and charging.
Talking about the camera setup, the rear has a 48MP shooter paired alongside a 5MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor while the front sensor gets an 8MP sensor. Finally, this basic 5G smartphone is priced at CNY 1,700 or $260 and will be available in China on April 3.
