OneUI 5.0 Beta rolls out on Samsung Galaxy S21 in the UK and South Korea

Just after a few weeks of rolling out on the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, the Android 13-based OneUI 5.0 Beta has made its entry on Samsung Galaxy S21 series in South Korea along with the UK which covers the trio – Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 +, S21 Ultra.

Talking about South Korea, if you are a Samsung Galaxy S21 series user and registered with the Samsung Members app, you can upgrade to OneUI 5.0 beta and try out the Android 13 UI even before the stable update hits the market in October.

You can download the Samsung Members app from Galaxy Store or Play Store. Once done, open and log in on the app, and check out a banner that mentions Galaxy S21 OneUI 5.0 beta update that you need to click on to get your hands on the update by enrolling for it. Once enrolled, the update should be available on your device and will be approx 2GB in size.

After South Korea, OneUI 5.0 Beta on Samsung Galaxy S21 series has rolled out across the UK as well. The mechanism to get hands with the update is the same as you might have read in the South Korea section. For the unversed, download the Samsung Members app, log in, click on the Samsung Galaxy S21 OneUI 5.0 Beta banner and enroll yourself for the beta program. Once done, you should be able to download the update and install and that’s it.

The UK version of OneUI 5.0 Beta carries firmware version G99xBXXU5ZVHE with a 1,957.47MB of download size available across unlocked models only. Thus, if your phone is locked with an operator, this update isn’t for you.

What’s New With OneUI 5.0?

The OneUI 5.0 beta brings a lot to the table. It brings enhanced Colour Palette features, there are separate call backgrounds for each contact, per-app language settings, improved performance, stacked widgets, opt-in notification for every app onboard, etc.

The latest version has improved the Digital Wellbeing section along with Bixby Routines. You can now zoom within the camera app with just one finger and you can dabble between telephoto and photo mode seamlessly. Transitions and animations have been improved with the OneUI 5.0 Beta as well. You can check out a tonne of recently added AR emojis, emoji pairs, and kaomoji, among others.

Beta update is expected to unfurl to India, Germany, China, Poland and the US with future updates. The OneUI 5.0 stable update based on Android 13 is expected to roll out sometime in October this year where the Galaxy S22 will get its hands first followed by others.
