All the curtains are off. Now we have access to the official AMD Ryzen 9 9000 Series prices, and it is disappointing to the tee. The chip industry is currently hurtling through Intel’s CPU stability where AMD’s latest Zen 5 chips could be potentially combating against their Zen 4 chips. It all boils down to the actual real-life performance that the new chipsets are able to obtain or else, it is much wiser to stick to Zen 4 chips.
AMD Ryzen 9 9000 Series Prices Breakdown
Starting with the bottom first, the six-core AMD Ryzen 5 9600X pegs a price tag of $279 or a $20 cheaper than Ryzen 5 7600X when it was launched. However, the latter has received a price cut to $197 which means 9600X will have to be seriously fast in order to take on last-gen’s Ryzen 5 7600X.
Moving on, we have Ryzen 5 9700X, an eight-core computer chip priced at $359. It makes it $40 cheaper than the Ryzen 7 7700X during its launch date. However, the latter has received a price cut as well and now, you get it at $290 on Amazon which mints a $69 premium on the latest 9700X. It remains to be seen if AMD fans will opt for the new chip, likely to outperform Ryzen 7 5800 × 3D.
Next up, we have Ryzen 9 9900X at $499 ($50 more expensive than a previous Best Buy leak) but still, $50 cheaper than the 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X during the launch day. However, just in case of other chipsets announced recently, Ryzen 9 9900X is reportedly $140 more expensive than the aforementioned 7900X since the latter’s latest price has dropped to $359.
Finally, we would like to mention the fourth chipset under Ryzen 9 9000 Series prices i.e., Ryzen 9 9950X at $649. It puts the chip $50 cheaper than last generation’s Ryzen 9 7950X. However, given the fact that the latter is priced at $523, you could be in line to pay a premium of $123 more on this latest Ryzen 9 9950X so you better wait till you know it’s worth paying for.
