In preparation for its January 2025 launch, Xiaomi flagship Xiaomi 15 Ultra is gaining attention, and it seems like the camera specifics are causing the rumble and dust. According to the leaker Digital Chat Station, interesting details surfaced as the Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera ranks as one of the most advanced camera systems in Xiaomi’s lineup.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera specifications
Xiaomi 15 Ultra is tipped to have a 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor and a 70mm 3x telephoto lens. This configuration is appealing because full-frame shots can be captured without any cropping, that is, high-quality telephoto photography with almost no loss in detail.
Both of the telephoto lenses can support the special telephoto macro function, so it is expected that users can look forward to getting minute details from a distance. Xiaomi is also going to incorporate a new photography handle kit with improved camera handling and control.
Other rumors around the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s cameras include a main camera of 50MP 23mm f/1.6x optimized using a newly customized hardware module. It is also tipped to carry a 200MP periscope telephoto lens f/2.6 in case you really need that ultra-high resolution.
In addition, the 4.3x zoom sensor is reportedly a Samsung HP9, and it would be an excellent add-on, just as the vivo X200 Pro’s sensor is, to deliver really astonishing details even at the extreme ends of the telephoto range. Also, the Chinese giant would pair this with a 50MP ultra-wide camera and Leica Summilux lens technology that will greatly help it to deliver very high-quality performance across all camera modes.
Other expected features of Xiaomi 15 Ultra
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, delivering ultra-fast performance for demanding tasks and high-resolution photography. Xiaomi has reportedly boosted the battery to 6000mAh, a noticeable upgrade from the 5300mAh capacity in previous models, providing longer usage times for photography, gaming, and more. The display is expected to feature the 2K quad-curved screen.
Global release and availability
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra was released in China back in January and will be launched globally at MWC in March 2025 so that users around the world can experience its high-end camera capabilities and quality features.
