Rumors about the upcoming Nokia flagship smartphone allegedly called the Nokia P1, seems to have no end. While the Finnish company has not confirmed the existence of such a smartphone, we’re now hearing that it could be officially announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) next month.
The latest news that interested us is that the Nokia P1 is built on Sharp Aquos Xx3 design externally. The latter was an Android smartphone released about an year ago in Japan by popular Japanese manufacturer, Sharp. This could be something more than just a rumor as Foxconn, the company in charge of manufacturing all future Nokia Android smartphones, bought Sharp in 2016. Although the upcoming Nokia P1 smartphone may not feature a brand new design, its alleged specifications are all top notch to mark the return of Nokia era. The Nokia P1 should be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor, with the Quick Charge 4.0 technology. Aside from the powerful chipset, it is said to come with 6 GB RAM and internal storage options of up to 256 GB.
Nokia P1 will likely come with a 5.3 inch 1440p display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on it. Moving on to the camera department the smartphone may sport a Carl Zeiss certified 22.6 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front facing camera. Other features include a fingerprint scanner, IP57 certification (water and dust resistance) and a 3500 mAh battery. Above all that, the device will run Android Nougat out of the box.
According to a close source, the 128 GB version of the Nokia P1 should cost about $800, while the 256 GB version to be priced around $950. If rumors are to be believed, HMD Global is planning to launch a bunch of Android running Nokia smartphones at the Mobile World Congress scheduled for next month. Stay tuned for more updates!
