- Apple is readying it's Visual Intelligence to showcase ads.
- Apple won't show ads but rather let the search providers supply sponsored images.
- A said snippet was spotted on iOS 27 code hinting at a possible rollout.
Apart from the iPhone 18 Pro launch, there’s something big happening at Apple as well. Turns out the Cupertino giant could show ads in Visual Intelligence on your iPhone. Well, a code linked to that was recently spotted on iOS 27, hitting a possible rollout.
Apple may bring ads in Visual Intelligence
Apple’s Visual Intelligence is based on Apple Intelligence (or AI), where the system uses cameras and other sensors to learn about items, surroundings, locations, and what’s happening on the iPhone screen.
Code in iOS 27 indicates that Apple may be working on supporting ads from search providers inside Visual Intelligence.

This would not be Apple selling the ads, but more so allowing sponsored images like you see in Amazon or Google listings. Unclear if Apple would take a cut.
Turns out Aaron Perris from MacRumors has noticed a snippet on-board iOS 27 code that hints at how Apple could be prepping to supply sponsored ads from search providers. Albeit it is not Apple showing ads directly, but rather giving search providers access to supply sponsored images similar to Google and Amazon listings. Perris didn’t confirm whether the ads were coming right away or something in the making, so we can take it with a pinch of salt as of now.
Apple hasn’t confirmed any of it just yet. It could be in the making and will ship with future iOS 27 iterations. For the unversed, iOS 27 was officially welcomed at the Surprise and Shine event on September 9, and as usual, the rollout for iOS 27 across supported iPhones will begin soon.
It seems Apple wants to diversify its source of revenue, and ads seem to be an unending source anyway. It recently allowed ads on Apple Maps, appearing as Suggested Places. It may not be too late for the Cupertino giant to issue ads elsewhere, and visual intelligence appears to be the first to face them.
