Ads are annoying. So, what about the Youtube’s 30-second unskippable ads? – They’are undoubtedly one of the most annoying things in the world. And the good news is, Google is scrapping them for once and all.
Starting next year, YouTube will stop showing the 30-second unskippable ads and will focus more on the shorter ones. Recently a Google spokesperson explained in a statement that their aim is to provide a better advertising experience for online users.
“We’ve decided to stop supporting 30-second unskippable ads as of 2018 and focus instead on formats that work well for both users and advertisers.”, said the Google official.
Instead, the search giant will concentrate more on the unskippable shorter ads, including the 20-second ones and the 6 second timed ‘bumper ads.’ According to an industry insider, Google is worried about the increased response of online users on Facebook videos, which is comparatively higher than that on YouTube videos. Whatever be the motive behind it, this move undertaken by YouTube is indeed appreciable and is expected to draw in more users onto the platform in the future.
