A Twitter user, Preshit Deorukhkar spotted Paytm Canada app earlier today and tweeted a screenshot of it. Paytm had made no former announcements of expanding its services to Canada so this wasn’t something any of us were expecting.
Whether they intended to launch it or was it something spot on, it’s interesting to see that they were working on expanding this the service to Canada. According to the app description and screenshots below, Paytm Canada can be used to pay both Canadian and Indian bills, and the is interface divided into two segments accordingly. “Use the Paytm Canada app to make secure, instant, and seamless bill payments nationwide. While you’re at it, you can pay your family’s bills anywhere in Canada or India.”
“Paytm Canada offers a quick, easy, and secure way to make Canadian as well as Indian mobile bill payments. Looking out for you, that’s what Paytm Canada will do!”
It’s App Store listing shows that the app was released on March 16, and is compatible with all iOS devices running iOS 10. And no, there isn’t an Android equivalent to this app.
Although we weren’t anticipating this, it isn’t too much of a surprise as the Paytm Labs are located in Canada itself.
