  • Xiaomi trifold, speculated to be called Xiaomi Mix TriFold, is heading for the market in Q3 2026 and has recently received GSMA approval.
  • The phone is likely to pick up top-of-the-line specs, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a triple rear camera, to mention a few.

It’s almost certain that we are getting a Xiaomi trifold device soon. Apparently, the phone was just whisked by the GSMA database, claiming certification for the unreleased phone carrying model number 2608BPX34C. Intrigued? Well, let’s learn more about the upcoming trifold (though we don’t know much about it at the moment), but we will try.

Xiaomi trifold is coming soon; spotted on GSMA

According to Xiaomi Time, the unreleased Xiaomi trifold carrying model number 2608BPX34C has made its appearance on the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA). The phone, dubbed Xiaomi Mix TriFold, is incoming with the patent showcasing renders that it will carry. Most importantly, the phone will rival both Huawei and Samsung in the trifold space.

Apparently, we are in a full swing in terms of foldable phones, and when I say that, I usually mean dual foldable phones or something that has a set of hinges that fold the two halves. Huawei came up with Mate XT Ultimate and Mate XTs as a potential next-gen foldable device, and just recently, Samsung took the mantle with the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold. It seems Xiaomi doesn’t want to stay less competitive in the foldable space either, and that’s where the trifold certification comes into play.

Dubbed as Xiaomi Mix TriFold, it is in line with how Xiaomi is calling its innovation models under the Mix series. Apparently, we don’t know much about the device, and we were honest to make it clear at the very start.

Expected specifications and launch timeline

Xiaomi has not confirmed any hardware details, but expectations lean heavily toward flagship-level components. According to Xiaomi Time, the company may use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-series processor, possibly a next-generation version by the time the phone launches.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold runs on a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and analysts believe Xiaomi could opt for an upgraded chipset if it targets a Q3 2026 launch window, which is roughly nine to ten months away. A triple-camera system is also expected, following Xiaomi’s focus on strong imaging performance in its Mix lineup.

It’s important to note that these details are based on industry predictions and patent analysis, as Xiaomi has not yet released official information.

The phone is likely to pick up Huawei Mate XT Ultimate’s folding mechanics, which are folding in a Z-pattern. For context, Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold closes inwards with one of the screens closing in first on top of the middle part, followed by the third part of the phone on top of it.

What a Xiaomi trifold means for the market

A trifold device from Xiaomi would be a significant step for the brand and a notable addition to the foldable market. The Mix series has historically served as Xiaomi’s showcase for bold ideas and futuristic hardware, so the move into trifold technology fits the lineup’s identity.

More broadly, the arrival of multiple trifold devices from major brands shows how quickly the foldable category is maturing. As Samsung, Huawei, and now Xiaomi push forward, these devices may become far more common within the next two years.
