OnePlus 15R launches in India with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 at ₹47,999

OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus 15R in India, expanding its performance-focused smartphone lineup with a device that sits just below its flagship models. Aimed at power users and mobile gamers, the OnePlus 15R brings a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chipset, and a massive battery, starting at ₹47,999 before discounts.

OnePlus 15R launches in India: specs, features & more

First things first, the OnePlus 15R in India and other markets is a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 6T that already made it to China a few days ago. We are seeing minor differences in specs, though, and here’s what you should know.

OnePlus 15R sports a giant 6.83” FHD+ AMOLED panel boasting a refresh rate of 165Hz. We got a crisp 1,272 × 2,800 pixels right here with a density of 450 ppi, 19.8:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 color gamut with a Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection on top of it.

Under the hood, we see a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, a last-gen chipset capable of reaching 3.8GHz of peak clock speeds. No doubt the phone is a gaming beast equipped with 12GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM, 256GB and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage variants, and an Adreno 8 series GPU. There’s a G2 Wi-Fi chip on-board. The phone packs an IP66+IP68+IP69+IP69K rating against water and dust.

The Chinese smartphone maker has ended its partnership with Hasselblad since the OnePlus 13R. Thus, we don’t see Hasselblad-tuned cameras on the 15R, but instead, the phone packs in DetailMax Engine that we have seen with the flagship OnePlus 15. About the optics specs, we have a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary shooter with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide with a field-of-view of 112°. The rear rig is capable of shooting 4K videos at up to 120fps. On the front, we have a 32MP shooter capable of reaching 4K@30fps as well.

On the software front, OnePlus 15R runs on OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 that promises superior performance, smoother UI, and a complete OnePlus AI suite.

What we are boasting about is the battery specs. The OnePlus 15R is equipped with 7,400mAh as it arrives in India, a step-down from Ace 6T’s 8,300mAh battery. OnePlus is using silicon-carbon (Si-C) battery tech on 15R. There’s 80W wired charging as well, which is again a step-down from Ace 6T’s 100W tech.
