On 20th June 2017, Samsung officially brought their new premium tablet – the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 to the Indian market, which is an upgrade over almost a year-and-a-half old Galaxy Tab S2. At Rs.47,999 the premium Tab S3 is an endeavor by Samsung to revive the almost faded out Android tablet market and a direct competition to the latest iPad Pro.
Originally announced at MWC 2017, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 brings a glass and metal premium design, and a 9.7-inch SuperAMOLED screen with a 2048×1536 resolution. On the software front, the Tab S3 brings Android Nougat 7.0 to the table, overhauled with the new GraceUI or Samsung Experience UI.
On the specifications end, the tablet is powered by last year’s flagship chipset – the Snapdragon 820, which also powers this year’s LG G6 flagship. And the processor is pretty powerful for a tablet. Coupling the 2.15Ghz chipset, are Adreno 530GPU, 4GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB). All these specifications are backed by a battery with a capacity of 6,000mAh, which promises a day of use. Additionally, the Tab S3 improves over its predecessor and brings a USB C port (USB 3.1) over USB 2.0.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 also brings several unique features such as the new speaker setup. This new feature named “auto-rotate speakers” works on the quad-speakers setup present on the Tab S3, just alike the iPad Pro. But contrary to the surround sound feature on the iPad Pro, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 also takes a leap ahead by tuning speakers through a collaboration with AKG audio. Alongside the speakers, the Tab S3 also supports 4G LTE, and comes with an improvised S Pen in the box, completely gratis for the buyers
Apart from that, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 also conveys magnetic pins, which enables the tablet to connect to the new accessories, such as the wireless keyboard priced at Rs. 8,499. Besides that, the Tab S3 also brings double data with Jio (at Rs. 310, valid till December 31st, 2017) and many other offers for early buyers.
