vivo has officially launched the vivo Y600 Turbo in China to expand its Y-series lineup in the competitive mid-range smartphone market. The new device features a large AMOLED screen, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, and a massive 9020mAh battery with 90W fast charging support.

Design and durability

The vivo Y600 Turbo comes with a flat-frame design and a vertically aligned rear camera setup. The device measures 8.29mm in thickness and weighs 215 grams. vivo has introduced the smartphone in Dune Gold, Electric Blue, and Millennium Pink color options.

A key highlight of the device is its dual IP68 and IP69 certification. According to vivo, the phone can withstand dust exposure, water immersion, and high-pressure water sprays, offering stronger durability compared to many devices in the same price segment.

Display features

The smartphone features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 1260 × 2800 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate.

vivo says the display can reach a peak brightness of 5,000 nits for improved outdoor visibility. The screen also supports HDR10+ and can display up to 1.07 billion colors. For eye comfort during low-brightness usage, the company has included 4320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology to reduce screen flicker.

Processor and storage

Powering the vivo Y600 Turbo is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset built on a 4nm process. The processor is paired with an Adreno 810 GPU and is designed to handle gaming, multitasking, and daily smartphone tasks efficiently.

The phone is available with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. It runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box.

Camera features

The vivo Y600 Turbo includes a dual rear camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It is accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. The rear camera system supports 4K video recording.

On the front, the device features an 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.05 aperture for video calls and self-portraits.

Battery and charging

Battery capacity is one of the biggest selling points of the vivo Y600 Turbo. The smartphone packs a 9020mAh battery, which vivo markets as its Blue Ocean Battery technology. Moreover, the device supports 90W fast charging for quicker power refills.

vivo has also included a direct power supply feature that allows the phone to draw power directly from the charger during demanding tasks, which may help reduce heat generation. The device additionally supports wired reverse charging, allowing it to charge other compatible devices.

The vivo Y600 Turbo supports 5G SA/NSA connectivity, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. Additional features include stereo speakers, an infrared sensor, and an in-display optical fingerprint scanner.

The vivo Y600 Turbo starts at 2,299 yuan for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model. The 12GB RAM with 256GB storage variant is priced at 2,599 yuan, while the top-end 12GB RAM and 512GB storage version costs 2,899 yuan.

The smartphone is currently available for pre-orders in China through the official vivo store. The company has confirmed that open sales will begin on May 27. At the time of announcement, vivo has not shared details regarding international availability.
