Amazon India has started teasing a new smartphone on their website. The tagline is “Shoot. Shop. On.”, so I guess this new phone could be a part of Samsung Galaxy On series. The Amazon India website mentions a few things about this new phone including ‘Superior Performance’ and a ‘New Way To Shop’. That actually hints that the phone could come with Samsung Pay.

As all the Samsung Galaxy On series handsets are based on phones from the J Series, this could be another new phone based on the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro and may have similar specs for sure. It is being concluded because the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro is the only model in the J series with full support for Samsung Pay. So, probably the new Samsung Galaxy On Series phone could be based on the Galaxy J7 Pro itself.

If this turns out to be true, the new Samsung Galaxy On can have the same specifications as the Galaxy J7 Pro.  So, this new Galaxy On should sport a 5.5-inch 1080p full HD Super AMOLED display. The phone might be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7870 octa-core chipset, having a clock speed of 1.6GHz and the Mali-T830 MP2 GPU, coupled with 3GB of RAM. There should be a 13-Megapixel camera on both front and rear. The phone would pack a 3600mAh battery inside.

However, the Galaxy J7 Pro is actually named as Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) in Europe, which is again not the same as the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) from AT&T in the US as it is similar to the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016). So, this is a kinda confusing situation and the teaser suggests a new design also, along with performance and the convenience of Samsung Pay.

I guess we will have to wait a bit before the curtains are lifted and Samsung actually invites media to showcase the device, till then nothing is confirmed. However, this step is good for the consumers as the Galaxy On series is known for the budget-friendly price tag and keeping the same tradition, if Samsung provides better hardware, it’d a sweet deal. Also, it is now almost confirmed that the new Galaxy On smartphone will be sold exclusively via Amazon.
