There is a rumour going around right now that Apple is making AR glasses inside the company and they are also said to be getting launched next year. For those of you who don’t know about AR glasses, Apple will not be the first company to launch them next year. Google has already made AR glasses inside the company which are available for non-commercial usage also named as Google Glass. However, Apple has been rumoured to work on the upcoming Apple Glass. However, we might’ve some insight about what the product might be like!

Now, a new extensive report from Jon Prosser, who has been prolific about his leaks in the recent past regarding Apple, has revealed details about the upcoming Apple AR glasses. In a classic Apple move which most could have guessed, the marketing name for these glasses will be “Apple Glass”. We know that there was a possibility of Glass as well but Apple Glass it is, as per the report.

On the other hand, Prosser has said that he expects the Apple Glass to start at $499 and the best part about this product is that they will support Prescription Lens as well. So people who already wear Prescription Lenses for their eyesight will be able to take advantage of Apple Glass too.

Obviously, the standard Apple Glass which starts at $499 will come with Prescription Lenses and users will have to pay extra for customizing their Apple Glass according to their prescription.

Also, Prosser says that the early prototype has wireless charging as well as LiDAR scanner inside it. This shows that Apple is investing heavily on its LiDAR scanner since we know that the new iPad Pro comes with it and the iPhone 12 Pro series is also expected to have it.

Jon Prosser also says that Apple is targeting the timeline of late 2021 or early 2022 for the release of this Apple Glass depending on the production while the announcement will be made sooner.

Apple Glass will have iPhone dependency like the initial Apple Watch and you will need to have your iPhone paired to the Glass at all times. Also, Gesture Control will be available on both lenses of the Apple Glass. Prosser, in his report, also claims that Apple was planning to announce the Apple Glass this year at the iPhone launch in the typical “one more thing” fashion but plans have been derailed due to the virus outbreak.
