If you are an Apple fan, you are in for a treat. Earlier reported to get delayed to 2021, Apple officially launched its premium over-the-ear headphones aka AirPods Max.

When I say premium, I am talking about the bold $549 price tag that AirPods Max arrived with including high-fidelity spatial audio, adaptive EQ, and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Apple AirPods Max is a premium wireless over-the-ear headphones backed by an H1 chipset that offers a premium audio experience thanks to Bluetooth 5.0. A battery stuffed inside produces 20 hours of backup on a single charge or at least that is what Apple has claimed while keeping ANC or spatial audio engaged. A lightning port lets you charge the premium headphones for the next session of jamming to the grooves.

The AirPods Max looks posh and sophisticated and molds over the ear clad in intriguing colorways. A digital crown at the bottom adds a flair to it and allows users to control volume while also giving options to answer or end a call, play or pause music, activate Siri, and much more. Flick it’s ANC and you won’t hear a thing. A Transparency mode amplifies surrounding sound in case you would ever need it.

The AirPods Max has an iconic design as per Apple that truly stands out. It uses something called custom acoustic design with a breathable knit mesh headband weighing at 385grams. Apple has a slim Smart Case on display where you can fold your AirPods Max and carry out. The best thing about the Smart Case is that it turns on ultra low power state saving the crucial juice on the headphones.

There’s no turn ON and turn OFF button on the AirPods Max. Instead, it uses optical and position sensors mounted on it to detect when someone wears it among others. There’s both Adaptive EQ and Spatial Audio features too where Apple uses a trove of data on the user’s head position to leverage it.

AirPods Max Internals

With AirPods Max, there’s a total of nine microphones where two one is for voice pickup, six are for active noise cancellation and two others are tasked with dual responsibility.

Talking about Spatial Audio, it is similar to iPad and iPhones if you have ever tried it. Here, it uses virtually placed sound sources to produce a theatre-like experience. On the other hand, Adaptive EQ seals the earphone by adjusting sound in real-time. It also considers the ambient noise and audio source.

AirPods Max is available in pretty enthralling color variants i.e. pink, green, sky blue, silver, and space gray. Orders have started today itself with the shipping beginning on December 15. Price is something that has become a buzz in the Apple fanbase. The AirPods Max is available at an MSRP of $549 in the US, INR 59,900 in India, 549 pounds in the UK and likewise.
